[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngWhat is ipFax Center?

Silex Cubed ipFax Center is a two part system that allows multiple people to fax documents from their desktop. The first component is the ipFax Center Server which resides on a modem equipped server. The server component comes with a configuration utility called ipFax Center Manager, The Manager allows you to grant/deny the ability to fax to certain PCs, enter your company's information for the automatically generated cover sheets, and define system parameters. The second component is the ipFax Center Client which resides on each workstation that will fax out documents. The client comes with the ipFax Notifier that monitors incoming and outgoing faxes, keeps a history of all outgoing faxes, and alerts you when new faxes have arrived.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngI have outgrown my ipFax Center Server, what are my options?

In the case of requiring more connections that your current license allows, Upgrade license packs are available for most situations. The Upgrade is simple and can be done with no down time. These license packs are available though our resellers, or directly from our sales department.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngCan I include my own cover page?

By default, ipFax Center will automatically generate a cover page for each fax that is sent out. You can disable this behavior on a per fax basis, by checking the checkbox labeled: My document includes a cover page, and ipFax Center will fax the document without its built in cover page.
You can also create you own cover page using Microsoft Word. When you create a new document, click on General Template and then select the 'Letters and Faxes' tab. Double click on the Fax Wizard and then type in you information as prompted. When you actually fax the document, remember to click on 'My document includes a cover page' or you document will be faxed with two cover pages!

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngI tried to send a fax and I get the error: "Not authorized to Fax." How can I fix this?

This is not an error, it is a warning. This warning means that your server does not have your computer name on its authorized list. In the ipFax Manager make sure your computer name is on the list, and it's accurate. If there are no available seats for your computer's name, you can contact our sales department or one of our resellers to purchase an Upgrade License Pack.

[edit] I switched the ipFax Server to a different machine but I dont kow how to change the Client so it points to the new server IP address. What can I do to change it?

Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngPlease refer to our Print Driver page.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngI shared my ipFax Printer on my network and now my computer hangs, what do I do?

The ipFax Printer component was not designed to be shared. Instead, install the client on each computer that will be a fax client. If you run out of available seats, then you may consider purchasing an Upgrade License Pack from us or one of our resellers.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngI am not being notified when my faxes arrive, how can I fix this?

Make sure the ipFax Notifier is running. There will be a fax machine icon on your system tray to indicate it is running. Once it is running, right click the icon, and click options. The Server Name or IP address box should have the appropriate information matching the ipFax Server.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngHow do I fax a physical document?

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngMy business is located outside of the United States; can I still use ipFax Center?

Yes, ipFax Center has been designed to allow a wide number of dialing rules, which enables international dialing to any country in the world.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngMy business requires HIPAA compliant software; is ipFax Center HIPAA compliant?

ipFax Canter was designed with HIPAA requirements in mind. All faxes are stored in one server location, which can be managed and password protected by the organization and be secured via Windows authentication. On top of the basic permissions, the ipFax server allows you to set which computers can download faxes to their desktops.

We eliminate automatic printing inbound faxes because paper can be lost or patient info. stolen. If a fax needs to be printed, it can be done by a person who is authorized to access the fax folder.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngMy company employs hundreds of people, is ipFax Center just for small businesses? Or can I purchase a larger version than the ones currently available?

We cater to large and small business here at Silex Cubed Inc. If you have a large amount of faxing needs, we can meet them with custom solutions designed just for you. Often, we recommend several ipFax servers, each with 20 or more clients attached.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngMy fax line is on phone system and I need to dial extra numbers to get out, can I still use ipFax Center?

Yes, you can! ipFax Center was designed with these types on situations in mind. If you need to dial an extra number just type the number, 9 for example, add a comma and then type the rest of the number as normal. Here is an example: 9,4350990

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngI tried to send a fax and I get the error: "server address is incorrect or invalid" How can I fix this?

This error occurs when you have the incorrect IP address or Name for the ipFax Server configured the ipFax Printer Driver Port section. To fix this you can go to printers in the Control Panel, right click on the ipFax Printer, select 'Properties' and then click on the 'Ports' tab. Look for the 'ipFax Center port' and make sure that the name or IP address are correct.

If it is correct and ipFax Center still does not work then try disabling the Windows Firewall which may be blocking the ipFax Server from accepting your request.

[edit] Image:Gtk-dialog-question.pngDo I need Microsoft Exchange or some other Server Operating System to use ipFax Center?
